«SAO Information»
Background.
Sword Art Online originally took place in a VRMMORPG of the same name. Sword Art Online, or SAO, was meant to be an advancement of the Full Dive equipment that would allow players to truly experience the world inside the game. After a successful beta test, the game released and thousands of players entered within the first day. What they did not realize was that something changed between beta and the release. The developer of the game modified its source code. All forms of leaving the game were removed. To make matters worse, players were told that if they died in the game, the Full Dive equipment would immediately kill them. The same would happen if they were disconnected from the game. Within the first few days, hundreds of players had already met their demise.
This death game lasted two years. Long enough for the players to navigate a large castle, floor by floor. At the end of the castle they defeated the final boss and brought freedom to the 2,000 remaining players.

The World
Our version of SAO differs from the animanga. In the anime and manga, after the SAO arc there was the Alfheim arc. In this universe there is no Alfheim. Instead, a government agency has acquired the source code for Sword Art Online. After making some changes, they have rereleased the game to the world.To the people, those affected and those that feared the game, they said that it would be a terrible to allow the advance technology to go to waste. Changes were made to the game, and they promised that no one person could use the game for such corrupt reasons. The game was safe, and that's what they advertised. Some of the players returned, and new players joined the game.
This version of Sword Art Online emphasizes the use of weapons, not just swords. It also incorporates magic. However, the magic is supportive to armed combat. It is not impossible to have a character that acts like a mage, but it takes a lot more work than it would to just be a swordsman or axeman.
The Races
Sword Art Online only has human characters. However, in this universe we will allow people to make other typical RPG races.The Limitations
To unlock more floors in Aincrad, the bosses of the current floor must be defeated by a group of characters.Any character can have a navigation fairy like Yui, but they cannot hack the server.
Characters cannot normally hack the game or make changes to it.
If there are any ideas for plots or events, let staff know before you carry them out.
Dual wielding is allowed, but it does not allow the chain skills like it does in the series.
Each floor of Aincrad has a town. If a character has been to the town, even stepped into the town, they can teleport to that town later.
Characters that have killed another character will have a red name and red aura.
Characters that have killed an NPC will have a blue name and blue aura.
NPC's will attack characters on sight if they have attacked an NPC.
Characters cannot attack other characters in towns (no glitches).
Characters can have two face claims. One for their character and one for their real life self.
A character cannot know who another character is in the real world, unless that person says where they life, their name, etc.
Show some humility: if there are only floors 1-4 that are open, then your character should not be level 100. If you don't know what levels would be acceptable, then ask a mod.
